Fundamentals of oil-immersed transformers:

The S20-M-10 series 10kV fully sealed oil-immersed distribution transformer is the mainstream standard oil-immersed transformer used in the current power grid construction and urban and rural distribution network upgrading. The main structure of this series is composed of 5 parts, high permeability magnetic core, oxygen free copper windings, fully sealed corrugated oil tank, new insulation system and non-excitation voltage regulating device. It uses oil immersed cooling and insulating system. The core and winding are fully immersed in the insulating oil. The insulating oil not only insulates the windings and the core, but also transfers the heat generated during operation to the tank’s heat dissipation surface through natural convection circulation, so as to achieve fanless and silent cooling. The product is based on the S13 series, and comprehensively upgrades core materials, optimises the electromagnetic and temperature field design, and refines the manufacturing process control to greatly reduce no-load loss and load loss. Energy efficiency is increased by approximately 15% compared to the S13 series, leading to substantial savings on electricity costs over the entire lifespan and a short payback time for the investment. Meanwhile the product has the core advantages of low noise, strong short circuit resistance, maintenance-free operation and wide range of adaptability. It can be flexibly adapted to the power distribution requirements of various scenarios, such as urban and rural power distribution networks, industrial enterprises, commercial buildings and new energy power plants. It is the mainstream energy-saving oil-immersed distribution transformer for power grid companies' power distribution network construction.

Features / Functions of the Product

 1. Energy saving and loss reduction: The no-load loss is reduced by about 15% in contrast with the S13 series and about 40% in contrast with the traditional S11 series by using high-grade cold-rolled grain-oriented silicon steel core, optimised lamination process and winding design. This leads to a significant reduction of electricity costs throughout the entire service life, and the investment difference can be recovered in 3-5 years, thus becoming a core model for energy-saving upgrades of power distribution networks.

 2. Fully sealed maintenance free design, superior life cost: The use of fully sealed corrugated oil tank structure, no need for oil conservator, completely isolates the system from air and moisture, which greatly slows the ageing of the insulating oil. Service life designed can be above 30 years. There is no core lifting, no oil changes, just periodic visual inspections as part of routine maintenance, vastly reducing operation and maintenance costs, and resulting in superior lifespan costs. 

3. Ultra-Quiet Operation, Perfectly Adaptable to Sensitive Environments High-permeability magnetic core and optimised structural design fully meet the noise requirements of densely populated and sensitive environments such as residential areas, hospitals, schools and high-end commercial buildings, enabling quiet operation.

 1.Raw Material Quality Control:

All core raw materials are premium high-end products of top international brands, including high-grade cold-rolled grain-oriented silicon steel sheets, high-purity oxygen-free copper wires/foil, deeply refined insulating oil and high-strength new insulating materials. Before entering the factory, each raw material is strictly inspected in full items, and the high-end quality of the products is controlled from the source.

2.Production Process Control:

The production of products strictly complies with the ISO 9001 quality management system standards; advanced automatic production equipment and fine production processes are adopted. Each process has strict process standards and quality inspection requirements, including core lamination, winding, transformer assembly, tank welding and final assembly. Each process must be inspected by professional personnel before proceeding to the next, so that refined quality control is achieved throughout the whole production process, and the manufacturing precision and quality stability of the products are guaranteed.

3.Factory Inspection and Control:

After final assembly, every product is subjected to rigors comprehensive factory test, including the winding DC resistance test, the turns ratio test, the insulation resistance test, the power frequency withstand voltage test, the induced withstand voltage test, the partial discharge test, the no-load loss and no-load current test, the load loss and impedance voltage test, the noise test, and the sealing test. Only products that pass these tests will be released to the factory. In this way, each and every unit that leaves the factory is a high quality, qualified product.
