Project Overview: This is a large-scale ground-mounted photovoltaic power station project in Saudi Arabia, currently in the photovoltaic array installation stage. Step-up transformers (including box-type step-up transformers and main step-up station transformers) serve as the core grid-connection boosting equipment for the power station, fully configured in complete sets according to the station scale.
Construction Site: Desert areas of Saudi Arabia, a typical Middle Eastern desert photovoltaic site, requiring targeted design for high-temperature heat dissipation and wind-sand protection.
Scale and Quantity: 30 sets of box-type step-up transformers (1 unit configured for each 2–3.15MW power unit); 2 sets of 100 MVA-class main transformers for the step-up station.
Model and Parameters: Box-type transformer: 3150 kVA, 0.6/33 kV, Dyn11 vector group, oil-immersed type, ONAN/ONAF cooling mode. Main transformer: 33/132 kV, on-load tap changer (OLTC), oil-immersed forced air cooling (ONAF), compliant with IEC 60076 standards. Environmental adaptation: Enhanced heat dissipation and insulation margin design with dust-proof and sealing structure to adapt to extreme desert high temperature (above 50℃).
Construction Status: All works have been completed.
Project Highlights: Integrated step-up solution consisting of box transformers, main transformers and collector systems; specialized design for desert high temperature and wind-sand environment; modular rapid deployment; standardized EPC construction management.
Project Significance: High-reliability step-up equipment ensures stable grid connection of the photovoltaic power station, supporting Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 renewable energy target of achieving a 50% clean energy proportion by 2030.
